Shipping, Returns & Refunds
At Asia Knowledge Law Books, we take care to ensure that your books are accurately processed, securely packed and delivered in good condition. This policy explains how we handle order processing, delivery, cancellations, damaged or incorrect items, returns and refunds.
By placing an order through our website, you agree to the terms below.
Order Processing
Orders are processed after payment has been successfully received and confirmed.
Most in-stock items are prepared for dispatch within 1–3 working days. Orders placed on weekends or public holidays will generally be processed on the next working day.
During peak periods, major sales, publisher launches or public holidays, processing may take slightly longer.
If an item becomes unavailable after your order has been placed, we will contact you and provide an appropriate option, which may include a replacement, waiting for new stock or a refund for the affected item.
Delivery Within Malaysia
We deliver throughout Malaysia using appointed courier and logistics providers.
Estimated delivery times after dispatch are generally:
- Peninsular Malaysia: approximately 1–5 working days
- Sabah & Sarawak: approximately 3–7 working days
These delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed. Delivery may occasionally be affected by courier delays, public holidays, weather conditions, remote delivery locations or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where tracking is available, tracking information will be provided after your order has been handed over to the courier.
Shipping Charges
Applicable delivery charges will be displayed during checkout before payment is completed.
From time to time, Asia Knowledge Law Books may offer free or discounted shipping promotions. Any conditions relating to such promotions will be stated on our website or at checkout.
Delivery Address
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address, contact number and recipient information when placing an order.
Please review these details carefully before completing your purchase.
If you notice an error after placing your order, contact us as soon as possible. We will make reasonable efforts to update the address provided the order has not already been processed or dispatched.
Once an order has been dispatched, we may be unable to change the delivery address.
Additional courier or re-delivery charges resulting from an incorrect or incomplete address, an unavailable recipient or other circumstances attributable to the customer may be charged to the customer.
Pre-Orders, Imported & Special-Order Titles
Certain legal publications may be offered as pre-order, imported, publisher-supplied or special-order titles.
Estimated availability or publication dates shown for these products are based on information available to us at the time and may change due to publishers, distributors, customs clearance, international shipping or other circumstances outside our control.
Where an order contains both available and pre-order or special-order products, we may hold the order until all items are ready for dispatch unless otherwise agreed.
We will make reasonable efforts to keep customers informed where there is a significant delay.
Order Cancellations
If you wish to cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible.
Cancellation requests can generally only be considered before an order has been packed, processed for dispatch or handed over to our courier.
Once an order has entered the dispatch process, cancellation may no longer be possible.
Special-order, imported-on-request or specifically sourced titles may not be cancellable once we have committed the order to the publisher or supplier.
Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under applicable Malaysian law.
Change of Mind
Because books and publications can be easily damaged through handling, we generally do not accept returns or exchanges solely because of a change of mind.
Please check the title, edition, author, ISBN, format and other product details carefully before placing your order.
If you are unsure whether a particular publication is suitable, please contact us before ordering and we will be happy to assist where possible.
Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Items
We want every order to arrive correctly and in good condition.
Please contact us promptly if:
- you receive a title different from the one you ordered;
- an item arrives materially damaged during delivery;
- an item has a significant manufacturing defect; or
- an item is missing from your shipment.
Please notify us preferably within 48 hours of receiving your order and provide:
- your order number;
- a brief description of the issue; and
- clear photographs of the item, packaging and shipping label where relevant.
Please retain the original packaging until your claim has been resolved, as this may be required for assessment or for a claim with the courier.
Minor cosmetic variations that do not materially affect the usability of a book—such as minor marks associated with printing, binding, storage or transportation—may not necessarily constitute damage or a defect.
Returns
Where a return has been approved by us, the item should be returned in substantially the same condition in which it was received, together with its original packaging where applicable.
Please do not send items back to us without first contacting Asia Knowledge Law Books and receiving return instructions.
For an incorrect, defective or materially damaged item for which we are responsible, we will arrange an appropriate remedy, which may include:
- replacement of the item;
- reimbursement of reasonable return delivery costs where applicable; or
- a refund.
The appropriate remedy will depend on the circumstances and availability of replacement stock.
Refunds
Once an approved returned item has been received and inspected, we will inform you of the outcome.
Approved refunds will normally be made using the original payment method where practicable.
Please allow approximately 3–7 working days for us to process an approved refund. Your bank, card issuer or payment provider may require additional time before the refunded amount appears in your account.
Shipping charges may not be refundable where an order was correctly fulfilled and delivered, except where required by applicable law or where the return results from an error on our part.
Failed or Unclaimed Deliveries
If a parcel is returned to us because:
- the delivery address provided was incorrect or incomplete;
- delivery was repeatedly unsuccessful;
- the recipient could not be contacted; or
- the parcel was not collected within the courier's collection period,
we will contact you regarding re-delivery.
Additional shipping charges may apply before the order can be sent again.
Lost Parcels
If your tracking information indicates an unusual delay or you believe your parcel may have been lost, please contact us.
We will assist in raising an enquiry with the relevant courier.
Courier investigations can take time and any replacement or refund relating to a lost shipment may be subject to confirmation of the loss by the courier or logistics provider.
Product Information & Editions
Legal and professional publications are regularly revised and updated by publishers.
We take reasonable care to ensure product descriptions, publication years, editions, ISBNs, images and other information on our website are accurate. However, publishers may occasionally alter cover designs, packaging or other non-material product details without notice.
Where a particular edition or publication year is important to you, we recommend checking the product description carefully or contacting us before ordering.
Statutory Rights
This policy is intended to explain our normal order, shipping and returns procedures. It does not exclude, restrict or modify any rights or remedies available to consumers under applicable Malaysian law where those rights cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
Changes to This Policy
Asia Knowledge Law Books may update this Shipping, Returns & Refunds Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our operations, delivery arrangements or applicable requirements.
The version published on our website at the time of your order will generally apply to that order.
